LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team received three points in the lastest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) National Poll and are ranked 27th overall. It is the highest ranking ever acheived by a W&L volleyball team.
The Generals are ranked third in the NCAA South Region and trail
just Emory University and Trinity (Texas) University in the
W&L has surged out of the gate to an 11-1 overall record (3-0 ODAC) which is tied for the best start in program history. The 1996 team also posted an 11-1 start to the season.
The Generals will look to improve upon their record at the Emory University Tournament on Friday and Saturday. W&L plays Milligan and Emory on Friday and Greensboro and Catholic on Saturday.
