LINDSAY HAGERMAN NAMED CO-NATIONAL ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee freshman women's tennis
player Lindsay Hagerman (Dallas, Texas/Highland Park) has been
honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as the NCAA
Division III Co-National Rookie of the Year.
Rachel Holt from Amherst shared the honor with Hagerman.
Hagerman, the 14th ranked singles player in Division III, earned
All-ODAC honors at No. 1 singles after posting a 23-7 record this
season. She advanced to the NCAA Division III individual singles
competition and was defeated in the opening round by Denison
sophomore Lauren Gerlach, 6-1, 6-2. In addition, Hagerman was an
All-ODAC selection at No. 2 doubles after accumulating a 24-4
record.
Washington and Lee ended its season with a 22-3 overall record.
The Generals advanced to the NCAA Division III Team Championships
and defeated Trinity (Texas) in the third place match, 5-4, marking
the ninth-straight season that W&L has finished in the top
eight in Division III.
