W&L WOMEN'S SOCCER APPEARS IN NATIONAL POLL

LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee women's soccer team is ranked 21st in Division III in the September 26 edition of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas Poll.

This is the highest ranking for the Generals since being tabbed 14th in the 2004 preseason poll. W&L was ranked as high as No. 24 last season.

Washington and Lee (6-0-1, 4-0-1) is unbeaten through seven games this season and is one of three teams in the nation that has yet to allow a goal. Sophomore forward Anne Van Devender (Jackson, Miss./Choate Rosemary Hall) ranks second in DIII in points per game (4.60) and leads W&L with 11 goals and five assists.

The Generals look to up their undefeated streak to eight games when they take on Emory & Henry at 3 pm on Saturday at Watt Field.
