SALEM, Va. -- Washington and Lee University earned the ODAC Player of the Week award for the sports of women's cross country and volleyball for the week ending September 10.

Sophomore Becca Taylor (Hamilton, Ohio/Edgewood) garnered the ODAC Runner of the Week for women's cross country, while senior libero Lauren Edmonson (Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) received ODAC Player of the Week honors for volleyball.

Taylor helped lead the W&L women's cross country team to a first-place finish out of 10 teams at the season-opening Generals Invitational on Saturday morning. Taylor won the women's race by crossing the tape in 20:54, finishing four seconds better than the second-place competitor.

Taylor was a First Team All-ODAC selection in 2005 after placing fourth overall at the ODAC Championship.

Edmonson posted ODAC Volleyball Player of the Week honors after helping lead the Generals to the championship of the W&L Invitational with a 4-0 record. She was named the Tournament MVP by totaling 54 digs and nine service aces over the four contests.

Edmonson, a 2005 First Team All-ODAC selection, needs just 76 more digs to become just the eighth player in school history with 1,000 career digs.
