ASHLAND, Va. -- Three members of the Washington and Lee men's lacrosse team have been named to the Virginia Sports Information Director's (VaSID) College Division All-State lacrosse team, which was announced recently.
Senior goalkeeper Chris Lalli (Cranbury, N.J./Princeton) was named to the first team, while senior defensemen Peter Goodwin (Darien, Conn./Darien) and Charlie McCombs (Bethesda, Md./Landon) were tabbed to the second team.
Lalli was a First Team All-ODAC, Honorable Mention All-America and Scholar All-America pick in 2007 after ranking fifth in Division III in save percentage (.655) and 21st in goals-against average (7.35). Lalli's 486 career saves rank fifth all-time at W&L, while his .615 career save percentage is tied for fifth all-time.
Goodwin also garnered First Team All-ODAC, Honorable Mention All-America and Scholar All-America laurels following the 2007 season. He was a four-year starter, who tallied one assist and 31 ground balls this season. He also spearheaded a W&L defense that ranked 18th in Division III in goals allowed (7.07 gpg).
McCombs was a two-time Second Team All-ODAC honoree after helping the defense rank among the national leaders in 2007. He tallied 33 ground balls during the season to finish his career with 142 ground balls.
Washington and Lee finished its 2007 season with a 9-6 overall record and a 4-2 mark in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.
