SALEM, Va. -- Washington and Lee garnered the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Player of the Week for women's basketball and the Athlete of the Week for women's swimming for the week ending February 4th.

Senior center Jessica Hunsinger (Mayer, Ariz./Orme School) was selected for women's basketball, while sophomore Susan Mahoney (Richmond, Va./St. Catherines) earned the honor for women's swimming.

Hunsinger led the Generals to a 3-0 mark last week as W&L extended its winning streak to a school-record seven games. In wins over Emory & Henry and Randolph-Macon Woman's, she tallied 14 points and 13 rebounds in each victory. With her 13-rebound performance against the WildCats, Hunsinger became W&L’s all-time leading rebounder, surpassing Jessica Mentz ‘02 (973). Hunsinger closed out the week with 19 points and 14 rebounds in a 55-50 win over Roanoke and now owns 994 career caroms. So far this season, she is averaging 12.3 ppg, 10.8 rpg and 3.4 bpg.

Mahoney paced W&L with first-place finishes in the 200 back (2:19.07) and the 1000 free (11:12.06) and a second-place finish in the 200 IM (2:18.14) as the Generals swept Hollins (180-61) and Randolph-Macon Woman's (154-86). Mahoney's time in the 1000 free was the fourth-best time in the event in program history and the third-best time in the event in the ODAC this season.
