SALEM, Va. -- Sophomore Stacy Doornbos (Roswell, Ga./Lassiter) was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference women's indoor track and field Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 11.

Doornbos, the 2006 ODAC Women's Indoor Track Rookie and Runner of the Year, had some outstanding performances for the W&L Indoor Track & Field team on Saturday at the Bucknell Winter Classic. Doornbos finished first overall in the long jump with a leap of 17'9.75", which broke her own school record, was the longest jump in the ODAC this season, and was an NCAA Provisional Qualifying performance. Additionally, she broke her own school record in the 200 meters with a time of 26.88, which was the top Division III time at the meet.

W&L women's track and field team appeared in the DIII national rankings (25th) for the first time in program history last week. The Generals continue their 2007 campaign on Saturday at the Virginia Tech Challenge in Blacksburg, Va. The meet will begin at 9:00 am.
