W&L MEN'S LACROSSE RANKED 16th BY FACEOFF MAGAZINE

BALTIMORE, Md -- Inside Lacrosse has released its Faceoff Yearbook Preseason Division III men’s lacrosse poll and Preseason Division III All-Americans.

Washington and Lee ranks 16th in the preseason coaches poll, while sophomores Tim Skeen (Baltimore, Md./Towson) and Harry St. John (Essex Falls, N.J./West Essex) were both listed among the Preseason All-Americans as honorable mention selections.

The Generals were joined in the poll by fellow ODAC schools Roanoke (8th), Lynchburg (9th) and Hampden-Sydney (11th). Salisbury tops the poll, with Gettysburg (2nd), Cortland (3rd), Wesleyan (4th), RIT (5th), Washington College (6th), Middlebury (7th), Roanoke (8th), Lynchburg (9th) and Geneseo (10th) filling out the Top 10.

Skeen, an attackman, received Preseason Honorable Mention All-America recognition after a freshman campaign that saw him total a team-best 35 points on 17 goals and 18 assists en route to earning Second Team All-ODAC and ODAC Rookie of the Year honors last season.

A midfielder, St. John was also named to the Preseason Honorable Mention All-America team after receiving Second Team All-ODAC honors last spring. He led the team with 24 goals and had eight assists for 32 points.

Roanoke senior attackman Jon Mason was named to the first team, while Lynchburg junior midfielder Ryan Cranston was tabbed to the second team. Roanoke's Zach Thomas and Matt Duke, Hampden-Sydney's Thomas Jennings, Colin Dunn and Alex Pritzlaff and Lynchburg's Brandon Fell joined Skeen and St. John on the honorable mention squad.

Washington and Lee graduated just two players from its 2006 team that went 7-6 overall with five losses to programs ranked in the Top 10. W&L returns 89.5 percent of its scoring and five all-conference players, including the entire starting defense.
