LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Washington and Lee senior libero Lauren Edmonson (Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III All-America team as an honorable mention selection.
Edmonson's selection to the team marks the fourth-straight season that W&L has had at least one player named to the AVCA All-America team.
A two-year team captain and four-year letterwinner for the Generals, Edmonson garnered the award for the first time in her career after receiving First Team All-South Region accolades earlier this season. She is also a two-time First Team All-ODAC selection.
Edmonson played in 123 of the team's 128 games this fall and set a new school record with 662 digs. She was also tied for the team-lead with 76 service aces. She finished her career ranked third all-time at W&L in career digs (1,532) and career aces (204).
Washington and Lee finished the 2006 season with a 29-8 overall record. The Generals won their sixth-straight Old Dominion Athletic Conference title and advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament.
