SOMERS, Wis. -- Washington and Lee senior Mike Ginder (Jacksonville, Fla./Episcopal) was named Division III National Collegiate Swimmer of the Week (NCSW) from CollegeSwimming.com for the week of Oct. 23-29.
A three-time First Team All-American, Ginder played a key role in the W&L men's swimming team opening the 2006-07 season with back-to-back wins. The Generals downed Transylvania, 155-100, on Saturday and then felled Centre, 117-81, on Sunday.
Ginder set four pool records over the weekend, including a first-place finish in the 200 back (1:55.67) in the win over the Pioneers. He followed that performance with an NCAA provisional qualifying time and first-place finish in the 200 free (1:43.32) in the win over Centre.
The Washington and Lee men's swim team looks to continue its unbeaten start to the 2006-07 season when it takes on Mary Washington on Saturday at 2:00 pm.
