MARTIN NAMED TO STREET & SMITH'S PRESEASON ALL-AMERICA TEAM

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee junior wide receiver Jack Martin (Princeton, N.J./ Hun School) has been selected to the Street & Smith's Division III preseason All-America Team.

Martin, who played in all 10 games, caught 70 passes for 1,353 yards and 15 touchdowns during the 2005 season. He ranked third in Division III in receiving yards (135.3) and 19th in receptions per game (7.0). Martin's 15 touchdowns were the second-highest season total in Washington and Lee history, while his 90 points rank third all-time for a season at W&L.

Martin was named VaSID First Team All-State, Roanoke Times First Team All-State, Second Team All-ODAC and also garnered Second Team All-South Region honors. He was the runner-up for the Dudley Award, presented to the Virginia College Division Player of the Year.

Washington and Lee finished the 2005 season with a 7-3 overall record and a 4-2 mark in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. The Generals posted their highest win total in 20 years and tied for second in the ODAC standings. Washington and Lee returns seven starters on offense and five on defense for the 2006 campaign.
