W&L'S MADDEN EARNS ALL-SOUTH REGION HONORS

MARYVILLE, Tenn. -- Washington and Lee sophomore outfielder James Madden (Dallas, Texas/Highland Park) has been named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-South Region Honorable Mention Baseball Team which was announced recently.

Madden, who also garnered Second Team All-ODAC accolades, led the team in hits (54), runs (39), homeruns (7), triples (5), total bases (94) and slugging percentage (.758). Madden was also second on the team in batting average (.435), RBI (30) and on-base percentage (.510), while hitting nine doubles. His five triples and 94 total bases were both the second-most in a season in W&L history.

Madden hit safely in 30 of 34 games, including 18 multi-hit games, and had a 19-game hitting streak during the season.

Washington and Lee finished the season with an 18-15-1 overall record and a 10-8 mark in the ODAC.
