LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee freshman Katie Tabb (Minneapolis, Minn./Edina) has been named the 2006 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic South Rookie of the Year.
Tabb, who earned First Team All-ODAC honors by claiming the ODAC Championship at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles with junior Ginny Wortham (Richmond, Va./Collegiate), is currently 23-5 in singles and 24-5 in doubles this season. She has also posted an 11-3 mark in singles and a 12-3 doubles record against opponents from nationally-ranked teams.
Tabb will compete in both the NCAA Division III Singles and Doubles Championships, while the top-ranked Generals return to action against No. 9 Williams in the NCAA Quarterfinals on Wed., May 17 at the University of California-Santa Cruz. The match begins at 9:30 am.
