W&L WRESTLING TEAM NAMED TO 2006 NWCA SCHOLAR ALL-AMERICA TEAM

LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee wrestling team was one of 20 Division III squads named to the 2006 National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Scholar All-America Team.

The Generals, who finished 12th in the nation in team GPA last season, ranked 13th in Division III with a 3.275 grade-point average. Messiah College was tops in the nation with a 3.47 GPA and the rest of the Top-5 were Augsburg (3.42), Milwaukee School of Engineering (3.40), Olivet (3.39) and University of Dubuque (3.38).

W&L finished the season with a 5-5 overall record and a 3-4 mark in the Centennial Conference.
