LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee senior defender Derrick Lott (Knoxville, Tenn./Knoxville Catholic) has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III All-South Region team which was announced recently.
Lott garnered first team accolades after also being named First Team All-ODAC earlier this fall. He spearheaded a W&L defensive unit which allowed an average of just 1.20 goals per game with three shutouts. A starter in 14 contests, Lott scored one goal during the 2005 season and finished his career with 11 points on three goals and five assists.
Lott is W&L's first selection to the First Team All-South squad since Paul Wallace in 2001 and his selection marked the 10th straight year in which the Generals have had at least one player named to the all-region teams.
Washington and Lee completed the 2005 season with a 9-6-2 overall record and a 5-2-2 mark in the ODAC. The Generals advanced to the ODAC Tournament Semifinals before falling to eventual runner-up Eastern Mennonite, 2-1.
