LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee swept the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Football Player of the Week awards following the Generals' 27-24 win over Catholic on Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore wide receiver Jack Martin (Princeton, N.J./Hun School) was named the ODAC Offensive Player of the Week, while senior defensive lineman Liam Murray (Oneonta, N.Y./Oneonta) was named the ODAC Defensive Player of the Week.
Martin led the Generals offense with nine catches for a career-high 217 yards and two touchdowns. He caught five passes on W&L's 14-play, 80-yard game-winning drive, including the game-winning 2-yard touchdown reception with five seconds remaining. In the process, Martin set a new W&L record for season receiving touchdowns. For the season, Martin has caught 39 passes for 755 yards and nine touchdowns.
Murray paced the W&L defense against Catholic with nine tackles, including five solo stops. He also added a sack in the contest and currently leads the Generals with 35 tackles and a pair of sacks. A team captain, Murray earned First Team All-ODAC honors last season.
Washington and Lee (4-1, 2-0 ODAC) returns to action on Saturday as it travels to Hampden-Sydney for a 1:00 pm contest.
