LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee sophomore center Jessica Hunsinger (Mayer, Ariz./The Orme School) was named to the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) Women's Basketball All-State Team, which was recently released. She was an honorable mention selection.
Hunsinger, who was also named to the All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Second Team, had an outstanding sophomore campaign as she led the Generals in scoring (13.6 ppg), rebounding (9.2 rpg), and blocks (1.7 bpg), while finishing second on the team in field goal percentage (.460, 155-for-337). She finished among the Top-10 in the ODAC in all four categories.
Hunsinger was W&L's top rebounder in 18 games and top scorer in seven games. She recorded 10 double-doubles in 2004-05 and now has 24 career double-doubles in 52 games. Hunsinger also moved into second place on the school's career blocks list with 94 blocks and is sixth all-time with 518 career rebounds.
Hunsinger tied her career-high with 26 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in a 66-41 victory at ODAC-foe Hollins on Jan. 8 and notched 17 points and a season-high 17 rebounds in a 71-55 win over Southern Virginia on Jan. 21.
W&L finished the season with a 13-13 overall record, 9-11 ODAC and qualified for the ODAC Tournament for the second consecutive season.
