LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee women's soccer team had two players named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III All-South Region Team, which was released recently.
Senior defender Kelley Zagol (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) was selected to the second team, while sophomore forward Anne Wiltshire (Richmond, Va./Collegiate) was placed on the third team.
Zagol, who was an NSCAA First Team All-South Region pick the last two seasons, set career-highs with 14 points, six goals and two assists. She also captained a stout defense which allowed just 0.71 goals per game and tied a school record with 10 shutouts en route to First Team All-ODAC honors. As a junior, Zagol garnered First Team All-ODAC, First Team All-State, and Second Team NSCAA All-America honors. As a sophomore, she was named Second Team All-ODAC and was an Honorable Mention All-ODAC selection as a freshman.
Wiltshire, who earned First Team All-ODAC honors in 2004, had an outstanding season on the offensive end of the field as she led the Generals with 35 points on a team-high 15 goals and five assists. After just two seasons, she is already sixth all-time in both points (68) and goals (28). Wiltshire was named Second Team All-ODAC as a freshman.
Washington and Lee finished the season with a 12-4-3 overall record and an 8-2-1 mark in the ODAC. Its' season ended with a 1-0 loss to Lynchburg in the ODAC Championship Game.
