SALEM, Va. -- The Washington and Lee women's basketball team was picked to finish seventh out of 11 teams in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll which was released on Thursday afternoon at the conference's media day.

Randolph-Macon sits atop the poll after receiving seven first-place votes. Bridgewater was picked second with four first-place votes, while defending league champion Eastern Mennonite was chosen third overall. Roanoke was fourth, followed by Lynchburg, Guilford, W&L, Emory & Henry, Hollins, Virginia Wesleyan and Randolph Macon Woman's College.

W&L enters the 2004-05 season with four returning starters, including junior guard Louisa Feve (Bethesda, Md./Winston Churchill), who was an Honorable Mention All-ODAC selection after averaging 13.5 points and 6.7 rebounds per game last season. The Generals also return senior point guard Bethany Dannelly (Raleigh, N.C./Enloe), the program's all-time assist leader, and sophomore forward Jessica Hunsinger (Mayer, Ariz./Orme School), who averaged 14.2 points and 10.8 rebounds per game in her freshman campaign.

W&L has also added eight new players to last season's squad which finished 9-17 overall, 6-14 in the ODAC. The Generals open their season on Nov. 19-20 as they participate in the Brandeis Tip-Off Tournament.
