LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee men's and women's cross country teams were both picked to finish third in the preseason ODAC Coaches' Poll, which was released Wednesday morning.
The W&L men's squad, which finished third in last year's ODAC Championships, received one first-place vote to trail defending champ and preseason favorite Lynchburg (four first-place votes), and Roanoke (one first-place vote). Rounding out the poll were Bridgewater, Eastern Mennonite, Virginia Wesleyan, Emory & Henry and Hampden-Sydney.
The W&L women placed fourth in the ODAC Championships in 2001 after having earned championships in 2000 and 1999. They trail Eastern Mennonite and Roanoke in the preseason voting. Lynchburg, Bridgewater, Virginia Wesleyan and Emory & Henry fill out the poll.
