W&L MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY IS THIRD IN ODAC PRESEASON POLL

LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee men's cross country team was picked to finish third in the 2001 ODAC Preseason Coaches Poll.

The Generals received 25 points to finish third out of eight schools. Lynchburg received nine points and six first-place votes to finish first in the poll. Roanoke had 17 points and one first-place vote and was second. After W&L, it was Eastern Mennonite, Bridgewater, Virginia Wesleyan, Emory & Henry and Hampden-Sydney.

The Generals open their season on September 8 with a meet at Virginia Wesleyan.
