W&L FOOTBALL PICKED TO FINISH SIXTH IN THE ODAC

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- At the annual Old Dominion Athletic Conference football media day held Friday, July 27, on the campus of Hampden-Sydney College, the conference's preseason poll was announced.

Washington and Lee was picked to finish sixth overall of the league's seven football playing institutions in voting conducted by the league's coaches.

Bridgewater received the most first place votes and are the favorite to win the conference title.

Emory & Henry, defending conference champion, was picked to finish second followed by Catholic, Randolph-Macon, Hampden-Sydney, Washington and Lee and Guilford.

W&L finished with a 5-5 overall record last season, 2-4 in the ODAC. The Generals return 12 starters, six on offense and six on defense.

The Generals will open their season on September 8, when they travel to Johns Hopkins for a 12:00 pm contest.
