W&L MEN'S LACROSSE CLIMBS INTO FIRST PLACE TIE WITH MIDDLEBURY
LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee men's lacrosse team has moved from No. 2 to a tie for first-place with defending national champion Middlebury in the latest USILA Division III poll released on Monday afternoon.
The Generals received four first place votes, while Middlebury (3-0) claimed six first-place selections.
The No. 1 ranking is the Generals' first since the 1999 season and second overall. The first time was during the 1987 season, W&L's first at the Division III level since moving from Division I.
W&L is 6-0 overall, 1-0 in the ODAC after posting a 19-5 win over Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday. The Generals will take on 15th-ranked Roanoke on Wednesday in Salem, Va. Faceoff is set for 4:00 pm.
