W&L WOMEN'S SOCCER EARNS ALL-STATE HONORS

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee placed three players on the College Division All-State Women's Soccer Team that was announced on Tuesday morning as voted on by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID).

Freshman forward Fontaine Marcoux (Washington, D.C./The Potomac School) was named to the All-State First Team, while senior goalkeeper Lauren Harris (Cincinnati, Ohio/Indian Hill) and senior fullback Shana Levine (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) earned honorable-mention honors.

One of only three freshmen named to the squad, Marcoux led Washington and Lee in goals (14), assists (9) and shots (90). Her nine assists constitutes the third-best single season total in school history, while her 37 single-season points are the fourth-highest in W&L history. Marcoux was also named First-Team All-ODAC.

She finished her career with a school-record 1.00 goals- against-average and places second in the W&L record books with 27 career shutouts after posting six in 2000.

Levine has been named to the All-State Team for the second consecutive season. She tallied one goal and two assists this season to bring her career totals to 15 goals and seven assists. Levine was also named to the First-Team All-ODAC, Third-Team All-South and ODAC All-Tournament Teams.
