LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee men's soccer team is ranked 21st in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division III Top 25 poll released on Tuesday afternoon.
The last time the Generals cracked the nation's Top 25 was during the 1981 season.
W&L (13-1, 8-1 ODAC) is also ranked 3rd in the most recent NSCAA South Region Poll released on Monday morning. The Generals have finished their ODAC schedule and have clinched at least a share of the ODAC title.
This season, Washington and Lee has made an assault on the school record books. The Generals have won a school-record 13 contests and started out the season with seven consecutive victories, which is the longest such streak in school history.
Washington and Lee currently leads the Old Dominion Athletic Conference in team defense (0.6 gpg) and is second in offense at 2.8 goals per game.
The Generals will next be in action on Wednesday afternoon as they travel across town to V.M.I. Game time is set for 3:30 pm.
