W&L'S BURRICE TO COMPETE IN NCAA DIV. III GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

LEXINGTON, Va. -- W&L senior golfer Rick Burrice (Louisville, Ky./Trinity) has been chosen to compete as an individual in the NCAA Division III Golf Championships to be held May 17-20 at the Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown, Mass.

The Taconic Golf Club is owned by Williams College and is currently rated No. 1 of all collegiate golf courses in the country.

Burrice was one of just five individuals in the nation chosen to compete in the event along with 21 teams. The four-round event will produce a team and individual champion.

Burrice averaged 77.0 strokes over 18 rounds this season and was the individual ODAC Champion, shooting a two-day score of 69-74--143.

As a team, the Generals won their 10th ODAC Championship, four more than any other team, and averaged 314.9 strokes per round.
