FOREST, Va. — The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced on Thursday that Washington and Lee has swept the league's Commissioner's Cups for the fourth time in the last five seasons.
The Generals secured the Dan Wooldridge Overall Sports Champion Cup for the 15th year in a row. For the second straight season, W&L netted its highest rating since the criteria were changed prior to the 2008-09 school year. The Blue & White had an overall rating of 0.882, which bettered its mark of 0.869 set in 2015-16.
Randolph-Macon was second with a 0.754 rating and Lynchburg was third with a rating of 0.695. W&L claimed the women's cup for the 14th year in a row and won the men's cup for the 17th time in the 25 years that it has been awarded.
In the women's cup competition, W&L posted a 0.867 rating by recording 104 of a possible 120 points during the year. Randolph-Macon was second with a 0.747rating. In the men's competition, the Generals logged a 0.899 rating with 98 of a possible 109 points. Randolph-Macon was second with a 0.763 rating.
This marks the 11th time that W&L has swept all three cups in the same season.
Washington and Lee had a fantastic year for the athletics program, currently holding a 212-103-3 (.671) overall record and winning 10 ODAC Championships.
